My Infinite Journey Begins at 68
When I retired, I imagined life would slow down. After many years of working, raising a family and helping other people through my career, I thought perhaps my adventurous days were behind me.
As it turns out, they were only just beginning.
Starting Again
My name is Christine, I am 68 years old, a mother, grandmother, retired Housing and Support Manager, and now the creator of Infinite Journeys.
Like many people, I reached retirement wondering what came next. I had spent much of my life working, caring for others and putting practical responsibilities first. Suddenly I had time to think about my own dreams and ambitions.
Rather than seeing retirement as the end of something, I began to see it as the beginning of a completely new chapter.
Discovering Travel
Travel has given me experiences, confidence and memories that I never expected. Some journeys have been close to home, others much further away, but each one has taught me something.
I have discovered that adventure does not belong only to the young. You do not need to be twenty years old with a backpack to explore the world. Sometimes all you need is curiosity, a little courage and the willingness to say yes to something new.
Why Infinite Journeys?
I created Infinite Journeys because I know there are many people who feel that their travelling days are behind them.
Perhaps health problems make things more difficult. Perhaps confidence has been lost. Perhaps life simply became busy and the years passed by.
I want this blog to encourage people to believe that new experiences are still possible. Travel does not have to mean climbing mountains or travelling to the other side of the world. It can simply mean discovering somewhere new, meeting new people or making new memories.
Travelling at Your Own Pace
As we get older, our needs can change. Comfort becomes more important. Accessibility matters. Taking things slowly becomes perfectly acceptable.
That does not mean the adventure has ended.
One of my aims is to share honest experiences, practical advice and personal stories that may help others feel more confident about travelling, whatever their age or circumstances.
Looking Ahead
Infinite Journeys will follow my own travels, dreams and discoveries. Some destinations may remain on my bucket list for a while, while others may become reality sooner than expected.
Along the way I hope to share helpful information, favourite places, travel ideas and perhaps encourage someone else to take that first step.
Because if I have learned one thing, it is this:
It is never too late to begin a new adventure.
Thank you for joining me at the start of my infinite journey.
